Win a Magic Bullet!

The kind people at Magic Bullet send me one of their handy dandy Magic Bullet To Go! blenders, asking if I would give it a test drive and also and offer one as a prize for one lucky winner, just in time for Superbowl Sunday. Always psyched to check out a new appliance, I said sure.

We just spent the morning whizzing up eggs and fillings for omelets, and frosty juice beverages. The kids thought it was a blast. The fun of this particular model, however, lies in the fact that you can charge it up and take it and its portable battery on the road: to the beach (not today, it’s like 10 degrees, that would be stupid), camping, tailgating, you name it. At first I scoffed at the thought of dragging an appliance to the beach, but then the thought of daiquiris at sundown turned me around.

(My son used the Magic Bullet To Go blender to mix up this awesome juice from fresh blood orange juice, fresh regular orange juice, and some ice — it was delicious!)

So, now we here at Work It, Mom! want to know: What would you do with a brand new Magic Bullet To Go blender for your Superbowl party?

(It chops, it purees, it frappes. So, think guacamole, salsa, margaritas, and soups. Think dips and spreads, think sauces, think smoothies.)

Post your answer in the comments and the person who impresses the folks at the Magic Bullet with their most ardent plea or snazziest suggestion will receive a free   blender, just in time for game day.

So, bring it on? What would you make?

Fine print: Contest open to U.S. residents only. We will pick the winning comment on February 9, 2010. All comments must be posted by February 7th, 5pm EST to be considered. We will contact the winner up to 3 times, and if we can’t get in touch with you, we will pick another winner. Void where prohibited.

  • For the Super Bowl, I would blend up LOTS of chilly frothy beverages!! I love the colored rings on the glasses so everyone can keep track of their own drink!!

  • my hubby just recently hit the ONE HUNDRED pound mark in his weight loss! YAY! he has recently become very interested in cooking healthy! he is interested in making things that are healthy AND taste great in order to not only keep the weight off himself, but also to help his friends and family eat healthy as well. i think our super bowl party would be the perfect time to whip up smoothies, dips and other goodies with the Magic Bullet and when everyone is making yummy noises, we can say ’see? healthy CAN be delicious…and quick too!’

  • Prior to this past week, I would have used this delightful appliance to make my locally famous, killer, salsa-guacamole. But since my dear, sweet, would-do-anything-for-me, hubby’s blood work up showed triglycerides of over 400, we will initially need it to mix his (read: “UGH!”) Cholestyramine resin powder into a somehow palatable liquid he will need to consume twice daily. Since he also has a “fatty liver” he cannot use some of the other drugs available in pill form. HOWEVER, once we rein in the numbers, I’ll use the Magic Bullet to create delicious cholesterol fighting smoothies, soups and spreads. I love my husband very much and want him around another 55 years! (He just celebrated his 55th Birthday!)

  • I would use is to make a broccoli soup, then Mango margaritas and then a nice raspberry sauce with Ameretto for the Angel food cake!! A great Super Bowl meal!!

  • Its tradition! Homemade Chimichangas for Superbowl. This would make quick work of the Guac, salsa and verde! AND I could actually make it in the same room as the TV! I usually miss most of the game (and commercials) making the sides!

    But even better! I work mostly in my car and I plan on starting a protien shake diet the day AFTER! The self charge will actually let me make them in the car! Finally! Maybe I’ll lose those Chimi pounds!

  • I just started making fresh pasta so I think my first job for the new magic bullet would have to be a fresh roasted pepper pesto sauce . My second recipe would have to be my favorite dip or spread- Hummus! Cant wait to try them!

  • Who cares about a Super Bowl party?! If I win — it will be Magic Bullet party!!!

    Z  |  February 1st, 2010 at 5:38 pm

  • I would look forward to using the Magic Bullet for all our game-day dips and drinks! We traditionally make our own salsa and barbeque sauce for Super Bowl Sunday, as well as margaritas and other blended drinks. The Magic Bullet would mean less time chopping, dicing, and mixing, and more time to spend with family and friends!

    Also, our family of three strives to eat healthy, and a Magic Bullet would help cut down on meal preparation at breakfast, lunch, and dinner!

    Plus, (and maybe most exciting to me!) as the mom of a 13-month-old, I guarantee the Magic Bullet would be used every day in our kitchen to prepare new foods for him!

    We would LOVE LOVE LOVE to have a Magic Bullet! Thanks!!!

  • Crystal light, ice and Vodka! Chocolate Vodka, vanilla light soy milk, ice and SFree Chocolate syrup! Yep, I’d make lots of fun Light cocktails!

  • Super Bowl weekend or not, my Pacific Crest Trail volunteer trail crews get cleaned up after their trail work day and then it’s chips and dip time until the BBQ. That’s after I’ve plugged the blender into the truck inverter to make my fresh salsa. I’m the trail crew cook and my salsa doesn’t come from a jar. Neither does my spaghetti Bolognese with extra fine chopped meat sauce. I would say that the Magic Bullet Blender ought to handle both of these jobs pretty well.

  • Every year my neighborhood has a SuperBowl block party, and I’m known as as the Dip Doctor (quite an endearing term, and a feat I try to live up to yearly!) I’ve been getting more and more into it throughout the years, and try to mix it up with a variety of assorted, non-traditional dips. I always serve the standards: my homemade hummus, chunky guacamole, salsa, and black bean dip…all of which I’d love to create using the Magic Bullet (I’ve been begging for one for years)!

    But I also like to step out of the box, with my edamame hummus, no-bake spinach artichoke and parmesan dip (the Bullet would come in so handy for this one especially!), cannellini herb and garlic dip, and the newest one to join the entourage - a ginger and cilantro puree that I’m still busy perfecting, to serve with shrimp, table water crackers, and toasted pita chips.

    I always get excited for Superbowl Sunday, and so do my neighbors! I have to say I live for the praise I get every year for what I literally bring to the table. A Bullet sure would make it even better…!

  • After … or actually before I make our traditional guac, I will be making baby food for my new great-grandson who is coming to visit on Super Bowl Sunday. All the way from Virginia. It will be my first time meeting him. He is almost TWO months old. I have another great-grand. A baby girl, 4 months old. Am I really old enough for great-grands? I guess so, I also have my first, 3 years old. Where does the time go?

    I have wanted a Magic Bullet for years!! After the fam leaves, I will probably use it everyday for a great breakfast drink. Have multiple diet issues, diabetes, etc.

    Carolyn Brady  |  February 2nd, 2010 at 8:41 pm

  • I would make some homemade salsa!

    Annette D  |  February 3rd, 2010 at 11:39 am

  • My family would totally enjoy the magic bullet to go to make baby food for the little guy and soups, sauces and smoothies for his parents.

    Cameron  |  February 3rd, 2010 at 11:45 am

  • Mmm, how about alfredo sauce in the Magic Bullet to Go while you’re camping? My family would love that.

    Becca  |  February 3rd, 2010 at 2:02 pm

  • Salsa and Guacamole babY! Would love to win this!

    Betsy  |  February 3rd, 2010 at 4:45 pm

  • I would use it to make roasted garlic hummus dip. I make hummus at least once a week but have a hard time getting it smooth, I think this might just do the trick. Do you think it’s up for the challange? What about some hummus after a big hike while you’re out camping? Yum!

    JoyfulGrowing  |  February 3rd, 2010 at 5:11 pm

  • Our family would be thrilled to own one of these portable Magic Bullet To
    Go Machines! We are having just a small gathering for the Super Bowl and I will be hosting my monthly stamp group soon. I would use it to make hummus dip, vegetable dip, smoothies and other goodies for my friends in stamp club. For the super bowl, strawberry daiquiris would be fun to make and drink! My husband would whip up his special
    secret barbecue sauce in the Magic Bullet, along with guacamole dip,
    and my favorite smoked tomato bisque soup!
    Many thanks…..Cindi

  • I would grind some poppy seeds for a poppy seeds cake…

    Marina  |  February 3rd, 2010 at 7:48 pm

  • Salsa. No doubt about it. This is fantastic!!!

    Kristen  |  February 4th, 2010 at 12:18 am

  • I would definitely be making margaritas. (Blue ones for the Colts of course!)

    Gretchen T  |  February 4th, 2010 at 1:45 pm

  • I would make strawberry pineapple smoothies! Man, I love those things…

    Wehaf  |  February 4th, 2010 at 4:32 pm

  • That little device looks like pure…magic! I’d definitely try my hand at salsa and serve it up with my homemade tortilla chips. I’d also like to try a few different soups…perhaps butternut squash or split pea.

    Stephanie  |  February 4th, 2010 at 7:56 pm

  • Ooh this would be awesome! I always saw this advertised on tv and was curious about it, would love to try it out! I would make a really yummy garlic spinach dip with the Magic Bullet, then I would chop veggies in it and make a fresh salsa. I’d buy crusty bread to enjoy with the dip, and tortilla hips for the salsa. Then I would make a spicy hummus dip in the Magic Bullet and buy some pita bread to serve with it. These would all be awesome snacks for Superbowl. I would also blend some drinks in it, Fruit Smoothies for the kids, and Margaritas for the Adults. For dessert type of snacks for Superbowl, I’d whip up a yummy dark chocolate mousse in the Magic Bullet then finely chip chocolate slivers in the Bullet and sprinkle it on top. I’d also shop fruit in the Magic Bullet and toss it together with sugar to create a healthy fruit salad with top with fresh Whipped Cream which I would make in the bullet also! Phew, I’m gonna be a busy girl if I win ;)

    Thank you!!

  • I feel like having enchiladas this weekend. I would chop my veggies ( onion, tomato, zuchini, red peppers) and make the sauce in the bullet. Serve it with rice and refried beans. After boiling the beans, I would use the bullet to blend them just before frying. Margaritas… in my bullet.
    For dessert I could blend cream cheese, evaporated and condensed milk in the bullet and then place the mix in the oven for flan!

    I’m getting hungry!

  • I have a busy family and I am trying to teach my kids to cook and make yummy things on their own so I ‘m not always in the kitchen whipping up something for my growing teenagers and one teenager wannabe! This magic bullet would be just that in my kitchen - the piece of magic that would inspire my kids to “play” in the kitchen and whip up their own concotions. Of course I would need to make sure the youngest knows that concotions does not include anything he finds outside in the dirt - namely the dirt itself!

    Amber C  |  February 5th, 2010 at 5:22 pm

  • I’ve got all the ingredients for making hummus… Just need the Magic Bullet for blending!

    Kristen M.  |  February 6th, 2010 at 4:44 am

  • Cookie Dough Batter Frappe!
    [same can be done with a cake recipe for a cake batter frappe]

    * softened butter
    * brown sugar
    * small amount of water
    * all-purpose flour
    *vanilla extract
    * pasteurized egg product (optional)
    Reserve:
    * cup chocolate chips
    * Containter of vanilla icecream

    - Add butter and brown sugar to magic bullet, blend
    - Add all wet ingredients to brown sugar & butter mix, blend
    - Add flour, a little at a time, blend. Repeat until all flour has been combined. (* if batter is too stiff, add more egg product and water, in equal amounts)
    -Refrigerate over night — do not freeze.
    -In another magic bullet cup, add 1 to 2 scoops of vanilla icecream and 1/2 cup “batter”, blend.
    -Add in nuts, chocolate chips, (maybe sprinkles or fruit for cake batter!) or anything typically found in a cookie, blend.

    Since I don’t actually HAVE a magic bullet, this hasn’t been tested. But here are more similar ideas I have (all of the following could also be frozen, chopped and added into vanilla icecream) :

    -strawberry shortcake flavored, peppermint patty flavored, key lime pie flavored, etc.

    i like to drink my dessert lol…

    Rachel  |  February 6th, 2010 at 4:12 pm

  • I would make smoothies - lots of smoothies

    Grace  |  February 6th, 2010 at 8:53 pm

  • I would make a rose petal jam. I would whip it up in the Magic Bullet. I would make peanut butter and rose petal jam sandwiches

    John  |  February 7th, 2010 at 3:05 am

  • We have *always* wanted a magic bullet, and the SUPERBOWL would be the perfect place to whip up some magic-al creations!!

    I think we’d have a ‘beverage’ bar - some yummy fruity frozen treats for the grownups, and milkshakes for the kids! :)

    Please enter me for a chance to win! Thanks, Amanda

    Amanda  |  February 7th, 2010 at 5:21 pm

  • I would make a bolognaise sauce in this device it would work great with fresh tomatoes, garlic, onions,some mixed herbs with ground nutmeg and sweet hungarian paprika. I would also add fresh diced beef from the butcher which i would chop in the magic bullet. 30 minutes on the stove and you have fresh italian bolognaise from scratch.
