Say goodbye to the frozen store bought breakfast, and say hello to homemade deliciousness! This unique take on traditional french toast will ensure you have enough time to feed your little ones the most important meal of the day! This homemade breakfast is quick, cost efficient, and can be made in bulk and saved for later use! On a cold morning, grab a cup of coffee, drizzle warm maple syrup over your homemade dish, and start creating memories with your child!
What you’ll need:
- 8 slices of bread, thick sliced
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 4 eggs
- 1/3 cup of sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 3/4 cup of milk
- 3/4 tsp vanilla
Preheat the oven to 350 °F. Begin by cutting each slice of bread into three pieces, forming french toast sticks. In a bowl, combine the butter, eggs, sugar, cinnamon, vanilla, and milk; mix well. Next, dip each bread stick into the egg mix and place on a cookie sheet. Once all the sticks are on the cookie sheet, drizzle the remaining egg mixture on top of the sticks. Bake for twelve minutes, turn the sticks and continue baking for another twelve minutes, or until golden on both sides.
Finish by serving warm with some maple syrup or allow to cool and place in a freezer bag for a quick breakfast meal to come! When you’re ready to eat them, simply place them into the microwave and warm for one minute.
