I’ve noticed several of your comments regarding accessories, and let me tell you, I could spend AN ETERNITY discussing the intricacies of accessories. (Say THAT five times fast.) However, it would be a huge disservice for me to lump all accessory-related information in one short post, so I am introducing a monthly Accessories Report into The Working Closet’s mix.
This month’s AR delves into delicate necklaces. Although overscale jewelry was all over the runways for fall, open any fashion magazine and you will see a plethora of teeny-tiny chains and pendants gracing lovely necks.
What are the rules regarding delicate necklaces, you ask? Absolutely none! Gone are the days of ONLY wearing silver with silver, gold with gold and platinum with platinum. It’s time to combine and layer to your heart’s content. (I wear these two necklaces together on a daily basis. Jewelry Mix-and-Matchers UNITE!) And the beauty of dainty necklaces? You can wear them with absolutely anything. Chic blouses, colorful tees, structured jackets, cashmere sweaters, you name it.
Considering the word “budget” is included in The Working Closet’s description, I’ve rounded up several delicate chains and beautiful pendants under $50 for your viewing pleasure. (At Etsy, of course. When it comes to unique jewelry, nowhere else on the internet will promise more bang for your buck, I promise you.)
Michelle Chang Jewelry, $20.00
Remember, Etsy’s handmade items are a blessing and curse. A blessing because they are mostly one-of-a-kind; a curse because they are mostly ONE-OF-A-KIND. If you love something, don’t hesitate!

I’m so glad you posted this! If one of these isn’t snatched up already, I’ll be purchasing. Great looks.

As much as I love you and Etsy, $50 for a necklace is faaaaar from my budget.
More like…$5.
Seriously.

My friend Alice makes some really beautiful simple jewelry: http://www.aliceqjewelry.blogspot.com/. She doesn’t have a ton of stuff up on her site right now, but I think she has more she will be featuring.

These are great. I love Etsy for one-of-a-kind looks and it feels good to support artisans. Very helpful post!

Necklaces are classy, and these are lovely. But…I wear an ID on a lanyard, and necklaces get tangled in it. That is, if they’re even noticable when I’m wearing the long chain with the unaesthetic laminated card at the end of it.

Just bought a necklace from Kate Szabone. Beautiful! And I appreciate the fact that I won’t see someone else at work with the same thing!
This blog is perfect- I often see a cute necklace or skirt in a magazine and then see that it costs $450. Fashion should be fun, but not cut into my 401K.

I’ve been looking for a necklace like the first one of the two you mentioned you wear daily. Can I ask where you found it? I’d love to track one down…
It is made by Tiffany and I believe the name is Diamonds By The Yard. Hope this helps!
