This particular task ended up being quite more arduous than I previously imagined. Trust me, I had no problems finding beautiful boots beckoning my name, but unique, high-quality boots under $100? Let’s just say they aren’t falling from the sky over here.
However, after spending hours burning my retinas, I think I’ve secured a few gems here and there. I tried to include several different styles, from knee-length all the way to ankle boots (booties), which are the hottest trend in boots for fall.
I never thought I would say this, but I’m very intrigued by ankle boots combined with dark tights and dresses.

It seems ankle boots should look best on thin and/or long legs (OF COURSE), but I believe combining a sleek pair (like #10 below) with matching tights for a monochromatic look could help to lengthen shorter legs.
What say you? Are you wearing ankle boots this season? If so, how are you incorporating them into your wardrobe?
Enough chatter. Let’s see some photos!

Although certainly not under $100, I’ve been coveting several pairs of boots for this fall. Here are some of my favorites.

These are great. . .I love the brown Frye ones, but I could not spend that on footwear.
Also wanted to throw in some props to myself for the awesome black Anne Klein ankle boots that I’m wearing today. I got them for $25 at famous footwear. Yea me! Oh, and I am wearing them with what else. . .boot cut jeans and a black top.

Those green Frye boots are TO DIE FOR. Sadly, out of my price range though.

I saw that green pair of Frye boots in Nordstroms a couple of weeks ago and have been coveting them ever since!

I think that I NEED the green Frye boots…now how to justify the need?

OK, going to forbid myself from getting or even LOOKING at the Frye boots, but wow, those unlisted ankle boots? Loving them. Not sure I can pull off the dress and tights look — but might have to try.

Matthew is seriously going to start cursing (which he does not do), when he sees my next credit card bill.

oh Sarah, you are the, as my friend says when she is really pleased, “the bestesest.”
Thanks for the low heels too.

The green Frye boots? ARE MAKING ME DROOL ON MY LAPTOP. (And I thought I didn’t even like low boots…who knew?)

By the way, the green Frye boots also come in black, brown and grey.

i am so in love with the ‘bootie’ but seriously, why are they all ike 5″ heels? i am already 5′10″ and have no desire to be like 10′ tall.
anyway, my point being that there are some cute ones (you are not kidding when you say they are everywhere! went to DSW today, wow) that are in the 2ish inch range that are so cute. SO EXCITED!
should we be posting flickr shots on how we wear our booties? i think mine will be worn with jeans/pans. finding skirts/dressing i am willing to wear is tricky…

I have been waiting for you to talk boots. I already have some mid-height slouchy black suede boots, but I totally need riding boots for skirts/tights. I’m debating about the heel, though. I’ve about given up wearing uncomfortable shoes, but the completely flat boots seem better with skinny jeans than skirts. Any thoughts on that? Because it would be awful to need TWO pairs. Ahem.
I seriously want almost all of these. Great choices.

I have the embarrassing problem of having thick, and I mean t-h-i-c-k, calves. I need about 17 or 17.5 inch circumference for boots. This poses an enormous problem as most boots are about 15 inches in circumference. I have been looking online to find stylish, great boots that will fit me, but can’t seem to find many options. Any help on this front?
Hey, there’s nothing wrong with strong calves! On Zappos, you can search by “wide calf”, and this site has some decent options. (Unfortunately, you have search through a lot of not-so-decent ones first.)
However, this site is my personal favorite.

Hope this helps!

@bearca: Funny, that was the exact phrase that popped into my head when I saw those green Frye boots: TO DIE FOR.
