We’ve been covering some ground with accessories and now it’s time for you to show us what you’ve got.
Starting today, upload your favorite accessorized outfits to the Working Closet Flickr Pool. Do you have a beautiful scarf just waiting to be worn? Or a very lonely bracelet that wants out of your jewelry box? Now’s the time to break them out.
According to Wikipedia, fashion accessories are considered “decorative items that supplement one’s garment, such as jewelry, gloves, handbags, hats, belts, scarves, watches, sunglasses, pins, stockings, leggings, neckties, suspenders, and tights. I say anything that spruces up your outfit and/or takes your ensemble to the next level can be considered an accessory. Please, no candle wax on the nipples. (Did I REALLY just make a reference to Weird Science?)
From this Friday until next Thursday, September 25th at 12:00pm PST, upload your savvy use of accessories to the TWC Flickr Pool, and leave a comment on this post with a link to your photo. I will choose 3 finalists to be featured in Friday, September 26th’s Working Closet column, and the winner will be chosen via poll by the Working Closet readers. (p.s. - That’s you.)
Please include a head-to-toe shot of your ensemble, and you’re welcome to include a close-up shot of your accessories if you please. Only one outfit per day per person.
Besides the highly sought-after title of TWC Accessory Queen, the winner will also receive this Free People scarf in their choice of color.
If you haven’t joined our Flickr pool, now’s the time. Recently, I spoke to a friend who mentioned she was considering joining the pool, but was afraid her outfits might seem boring. I hope I speak for many of us when I say that I draw inspiration from so many different photos in our pool. What you might think is boring might be the very answer to another’s fashion dilemma. The more photos, the more inspiration for all of us!
Now, what are you waiting for? I can’t wait to see your accessorized ensembles.

Accessorizing is not my forte, so this is a great challenge for me. Here’s what I did with Grandma’s scarf.

Okay! I’ve entered! HAVE I MENTIONED THAT FRIDAY IS MY BIRTHDAY? You know, not that that should sway your decision on the winner, or anything.
