It’s Friday. Time to wrap up our work-related responsibilities and focus on relaxing with the family. However, “relaxing with the family” doesn’t always need to include a ratty, old t-shirt and yoga pants. You can enjoy the weekend in style with a few key pieces thrown into your normal rotation. (Hint: jeans are key. For more than you would ever want to know about jeans, click here.)
A great weekend checklist includes the following:
- The perfect pair of jeans
- Slim capris
- A crewneck sweater
- A casual, buttoned-up blouse
- Short and long-sleeved cotton tees
- Chic flats
- Brightly-colored accessories
A colorful and comfortable piece can completely reinvigorate what you already have hanging in your closet. Here are some chic options to spice up your weekend wardrobe.

Well, what do you know? I own that Old Navy button-down (in turquoise) the shirred BR top (black) AND J Crew city flats (mine are silver). I guess I need to actually use these items on the weekend, because (shamefully) I DO wear ratty yoga pants all the time.

I like your list & will be checking out that Old Navy shirt.
Mrs. O’s style has also inspired me. I particularly love her J. Crew cardigans in gorgeous colors. I think they’re great for a weekend or work look.
