Spring has sprung in my neighborhood, which means that I really need a pedicure, stat. But it also means that it’s time to face the age-old question of what’s appropriate for the office. Are peep toes and slingbacks fine for day, or should they be saved for date night?

Stuart Weitzman ‘Logoflame’ pump, $325
Toes and heels are fine for the office, in moderation — just like any other skin, of course. If you opt for a peep toe, pedicure first; if you’re not a fan of fancy nail colors, go neutral or nude, but make sure your nails are cleaned up and presentable. Please.

Enzo Angiolini ‘Martini’ pump, $89.95
If you’re not a fan of the peep toe, think about a toe that shows a little toe cleavage — opt for a vamp that stops just short of where your toes meet the top of your foot. Toe cleavage is fine for the office, but stick with a low kitten heel; anything too high will make your foot wrinkle. And no one wants that.

Ivanka Trump ‘Lucierene’ pump, $139.95
Slingbacks are always office-appropriate (unless your office prohibits any kind of open shoes all together, of course). Slingbacks typically come in more tailored styles, but the open back gives this look a little va va voom. And, once again, please pedicure! Grab a pumice stone or foot file at the grocery and give your heels a good once-over in the shower; slather them in a rich lotion or Aquaphor and slip on some socks. And you’re done!
Your turn: Do you show your feet off at work, or do you save them for your off hours?

I love a peep toe for work! I used to work in an office that didn’t allow your toes to show, so now I take advantage of my more lenient dress code.

As long as it is one or the other (peep toe or slingback, not peep toe with slingback).
I do miss my former office where dressy strappy sandals were ok…sigh.

I generally would go with a slingback for work more than a peeptoe..the ones you posted though are gorgeous and I think could work from day - night.

I like a peeptoe at work as long as it truly is a small area of “peep” - not all of the toes should be showing.
I also think slingbacks are nice but unfortunately the straps won’t stay on my heels. Then they are like mules and make a flip-flop sound when I’m walking around, and that’s not professoinal in anyone’s book.
