casual-friday.jpgCasual Friday with Mir—because some days are made for wearing your jeans and surfing the blogs.

I doubt many of you are at work this week, but assuming that you are and you need a break, I’m your gal. (We had dinner with friends last night and after my third reference to something I read online, one of them leaned forward and said, “You spend a lot of time on the computer, huh?” I’m still laughing.)

Really I meant to post this one last week in the Christmas-preparation frenzy, but it’s still good: It turns out that Amazon has a sense of humor.

My inner 10-year-old boy likes it when I indulge in a bit of bathroom humor.

Did you get that memorable picture of your kids for your holiday cards this year? Mamatulip remembers the first time she did. (And here’s another “remember that the bad stuff makes the best memories” post from Ruthless in the Suburbs, too.)

I’ve been enjoying Moms Speak Up, lately, and they finally got me to watch The Story of Stuff, which I’d been meaning to but hadn’t. (This is not a funny one—this is simply a “worth your time” one.)

Thinking about New Year’s resolutions? Kristin is vowing to tell you off next year. (A brief but must-read post for anyone who is chronically polite.)

[After watching The Story of Stuff I feel like I can't very well start spouting off shopping links, but I will tell you that Target is going to 75% off on their Christmas clearance, today. Just in case you've been wanting to stock up on wrapping paper or whatever. (Oh, now I have guilt. Consumer guilt. Ack.)]

  • You have an inner 10 year old boy? ME TOO! Mine likes to shave spots on his head with his sister’s razor. Wait - that’s my real 10 year old boy. No, I have an inner 10 year old cat that likes to lay around the house and hock up hair balls.

  • Yeay! It’s still Friday and I can still participate. I just finished my projects for the day.

I’m not sure about an inner 10 year old boy, but I was quite the tomboy when I was growing up. I miss the days of climbing trees and playing baseball in the field at the bottom of the hill.

I’m definitely thinking about New Years Resolutions, though. Should I, or shouldn’t I?

  • Thanks for the Amazon reply (nice to know a human is out there reading our rants), and for the “Story of Stuff” link — I’ll leave that tab open and watch it tomorrow!
