Ending a life
Yesterday I had to make a hard decision: to have the vet euthanize my rescue foster dog. Basically, he had health problems that required extensive ongoing care and reconstructive surgery with no end in sight to the possible future complications. We spent the day at St. George Island State Park on the Gulf Coast here in FL. Gorgeous white sand beach with hardly anyone else around. Oh my gosh it was fabulous. But being a pale-skinned redhead I always burn so badly. I put on tons of sunblock, but I STILL got really badly burned. Ugh!! So STINGY!!…Thanks for nothing, NYTimes article.
Like, I'm sure, thousands of other concerned women I got all tied up in knots about domestic inequality after reading the NY Times article by Lisa Belkin titled "When Mom and Dad Share It All." Like a fool, I ruminated and simmered about the unfairness of it all and even expressed a few of my frustrations…
