... doing a little bit of everything at my mother's Indian restaurant. I had just turned 10.By the time she closed the restaurant, five years later, I had been a waitress, a kitchen prep person, a dishwasher, a bus "boy", a dessert server, a runner, a hostess, a cashier, and a cook.  I was sorting through photos for our Christmas cards when I noticed that I don't have a single, solitary shot with me in it.
