Today, everyday, compassionate heart.

My daughter told me as we drove to the family " if they are acting grinchy, I do not want a toy, but I will be good and I will play nice and I will miss you momma, I promise I will be your good girl today." She has been saying that grinchy hearts are soo small, they make people mean, they corner up in the chest betwen the lungs (she is saying all this, seriously, because she is four and she has an extensive vocabulary) and the cobwebs gunk up the love and get in the way of good manners. She heard in church a while ago that compassionate love was a hallmark of gods truth and light, so as we drove and I said she was always trying hard to be my good girl and I was especially proud of her good manners and knew she would behave and miss me she said very solemnly " They need alot of heart, just the pasionate, wait...the big word...hmmmm, oh yes momma, they all need a very COM passsionate heart. I will pray, that will work." I felt like all the light of the sun had been poured into my small sadness and lifted all the troubles of daily life right into the ether! Happy new year, merry christmas, and everyone have a commpassionate heart.
