So after many conversations about 'we live so close to DC how are we not taking the boy to museums!?  this is a great way to have some family time!" we decided to go see the Hopper exibit (some artsy thing hubby wants to see and i hope to accidently learn something all smart like about art LOL).

i was so excited!  we were even taking metro!  woohoo!  so 30 minutes and 2 trains (with a stroller, no less) later we are downtown and making our way to the exhibit at the museum!  and i say 'hmm how come there are ALL these people walking towards us and no one walking towards the museum?'

yeah that was because the musem closed at 5pm!  But since the boy slept unilt 3pm this afternoon - we got a bit of a late start and didnt get there until RIGHT when they closed!

SO we decided to have dinner at the not very exciting potbelly's and head home LOL!  we will try again tomorrow MORNING!  i think we will have success ;)

  • Congrats on finally making it! Just taking a trip to the museum, even if you missed it the first day, was probably a very fun adventure for the little ones!! I hear ya on the volume control! Why don't they come with a switch?

  • yes! we actually made it on sunday morning! it was interesting dealing with the stroller! but the exhibit was great and people loved (so they said?) that he was happy to look at the paintings and expressive - we have to find that volume control!!

  • I hope you had great success today. How funny that you got there when they closed. I love doing museums and zoos with the girls. And not just for their enjoyment, but mostly for mine!

  • That's a great family outing - even if the museum was closed:)

We used to live in NYC and loved going to a museum for the afternoon with our daughter - especially when it got cold.
