This quote is attributed to the great sage Dr. Seuss, and I've used it as part of my e-mail signature for quite a while:
"Be who you are and say how you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind."
I'm not much for poetry, but I do tend to latch on to song lyrics sometimes, and here are a couple that I identify with sometimes:
"Ain't nobody gonna see eye to eye with a girl who's only gonna stand collarbone high" ("Rollerskate Skinny," Old 97s) - yep, that's about where I hit pretty often
"And you may ask yourself...well, how did I get here?" ("Once in a Lifetime," Talking Heads) - ever ask yourself that one?
And then there's my ultimate source of Quotes For All Occasions - half the script of The Princess Bride. My ability to work lines from it into ordinary conversation either impresses or really confuses people.

I used to send my ex-husband and son off to wherever with "Bye-bye, boys! Have fun storming the castle!"
If forced to pick ONE favorite movie, this is it - and the book's great too.
