Here are some of my favorites...

"Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense."

-Ralph Waldo Emerson

You gain strength, courage, and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face. You are able to say to yourself, "I have lived through this horror. I can take the next thing that comes along." . . . You must do the thing you think you cannot do.

-Eleanor Roosevelt

Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

-Thomas Edison

  • Kathy - that's a great one. Come to think of it, I love quotes - I should subscribe to one of those daily emails. Or better yet, we should have one for WIM:)

  • I actually collect quotes and am subscribed to a few services that send daily quotes. I got this one today from Beliefnet and caught myself nodding my head in agreement as I read it:

"Anxiety is a thin stream of fear trickling through the mind. If encouraged, it cuts a channel into which all other thoughts are drained."
    -Arthur Somers Roche

  • The second quote is so true. I felt that way after my sonĀ“s surgeries, the worst things had happened, my baby was operated on, so now, everything is easy!
