Boys will teach you to enjoy life. Period.

My kids are boys. I grew up with one sister. I actually did some "boy" activities growing up because my dad had no one else to do them with. We went to tractor pulls and on fishing trips. Still, my boys have shown me the world through boys' eyes. I have been to the Blue Aisle and I like it! Most importantly, they've taught me that it's better to get in the game than look pretty sitting on the side lines. Boys don't care if you have messy hair and BO, they want you to PLAY and play hard! New sandals be damned, mom is trekking through the mud with them.

  • Hmm, ok, so we have some hope with our daughter - she is 3, but I hope she gets a bit less neatfreakish (although I have to confess, I know where she gets it from!):)

  • My 3 year old also used to be a hand-washer. He would pick up dirt or mud then ask to be washed. Somewhere between 2 and 3, he got over it.

  • My sister has two boys and a girl and she tells me the same thing. My little guy is too young for these activities, but if he's anything like my hubby and his cousins, he'll be in the mud and snow and car oil in no time!

  • I have a daughter but so know what you mean - when our friends with boys come over, I see how fun it is to just not care at all about messy hair or messy clothes and have fun! (My daughter on the other hand asks to wash her hands if she gets paint on it during arts and crafts:)
