Current Events...

I don't understand what brings people to the point that they walk into shopping malls and start shooting innocent people. What makes someone walk into a church and start shooting. I don't understand that type of violence.

When I'm down I try to remember all the things I have to be grateful for and soon my mood changes.

I transferred over to the juvenile side of probation for a year. I would input offender information.... Believe me it was an eye opening experience. Did these horrible things happen when I was a youth and they just didn't make it "center stage" or have we changed so much?

I'm originally from Omaha. Last week's events turned everyone upside down.

Gives me pause and a renewed sense of understanding of my job as a mom. There is just something about instilling in your children that violence/anger inflicted on others is just not acceptable.

I could go on forever . . . but will stop for now.

Thanks Kathy for sharing your thoughts. I agree with you or at least I hope these folks aren't thinking logically. Most just want their 5 minutes of fame which is a sad reflection on our society.

I think you are trying to comprehend something that a healthy mind simply cannot comprehend. People that do those sorts of things, in my opinion, are not in a healthy frame of mind. The term "snapped" comes to mind. You cannot be a rational, logical, thoughtful and/or thinking person and do something so violent. It is hard to watch stories like these recent events in the news. It is heart wrenching to think that someone could lose their sense and logic to that degree. But clearly, it does happen.
