My child...

So my son is 3 1/2 years old - he is the second (middle child).  And he is by far the most challenging.

We get calls from school regularly - he's high strung and super-active and talks a mile a minute!

Sweetest child you ever met - he's cute with an impish little smile and your heart will break when he pouts at you!  And when he is up to his tricks, his crooked little naughty grin will make you laugh out loud.

I wonder a lot why it seems like we just can't control him - but I know we'll really be greatful for his independent nature and strong will when he gets older - it's just hard to deal with now!

Here was my laugh out loud for the day....(not really funny, but I couldn't help myself)....we've been threatening him with Santa phone calls when he's naughty - we have even placed Santa's number on speed dial on our phones.  So while I was at the store, appraently he did something (not sure what) and Dad decided to call Santa.  As he was dialing, my son started crying - don't call Santa, then when Daddy didn't put the phone down, he punched him in the face.  Of course at that point it was straight to bed, only bed, do not pass go, do not collect $200!  He came slinking out of his room later and I sat down to talk to him about it and when I told him to apologize he said, "But he was calling on me!"

Now I know technically it's not funny, but he was really concerned with Santa knowing he was being naughty and he didn't really think it through real well!  He just reacted.  That's what we've got to work on - impulse control!

Hopefully he can redeem himself before Santa's trip tomorrow!
