My New Year's Resolution - Focus on me and the environment

I'm usually not big on resolutions. Who needs the added pressure? But, this year, I realized I made four.
- First, focus on my health: meaning getting to bed before midnight every night (instead of burning the post-midnight oil working); and finding 3 more hours in the week to exercise.
- Second, eliminate a few high maintenance things in my life. This started last month when I decided my blonde hair was much too high-maintenance and I'm thrilled with my new low maintenance (cheaper! less time at salons) brunette do. Also noted that as a brunette, I don't feel the need to use self tanners as I don't look washed out - life got even simpler. Then, last week I did a makeup makeover and am tossing all the old odds and ends and sticking with a simple Laura Mercier look -- no thought required.
- Third, I'm using less water bottles. I put plastic cups in the refrigerator right next to the brita 2-gallon water filter for my 8 year old to get water for himself instead of grabbing a water bottle.
- Fourth, cancel all catalogs that come into my house. I started this last fall when it got way too out of control (who needs 5 Pottery Barn catalogs with the same items just photographed differently?).
Hmmmm. Maybe resolutions aren't such a bad thing for me or the environment.

Ha! It's now 12:38, so I broke #1 already. But my excuse was the Iowa Caucuses. Now, I'm going to bed.
