I work because...

I really want to. I want to be engaged with a very satisfying activity that is all about making a contribution using my top strengths...and has nothing to do with kids. Fortunately I work a schedule that allows me to have plenty of kid time too.

I have been full-time at home when the kids were really little, and although that was a pretty good gig at times, I knew I didn't want that situation indefinitely.

I know exactly what you mean. I work part time from home right now, but know that I don't want it to be permanent...but semi-permanent wouldn't be bad :-).
