I work because I have to, yes really I only do it because I absolutely have to.  I decided to work from home so that I could spend the time with my own kids, being a solo parent I felt like they would get too much time spent with strangers raising them if I worked outside the home.  The income is fairly pitiful but does enough to support what I get from state benefits, although the tax dept takes most of it!  Being at home is important to me to help my children grow, I will be looking at something outside the home once all the kids are in school, so that I can socialise with other adults instead of talking baby talk all day.
