Mother's Day gifts

As a Mom what would you like to receive for Mother's day? ( besides a day off).  I have heard of people buying appliances, mops, earrings, scarves, but none of those things really seem that exciting to me.  I'm a "words of encouragement" gal, and I'd love to hear how valuable I am to my family, how I have encouraged and challenged them, how I have made an impact in their daily lives, how I have taught them to be better people....Isn't that what most moms are looking for...a little appreciation for the love, encouragement, effort and sacrifice they give to help their families be a great group of people.

We can all bless our mom's with a tribute.  I challenge you to sit down and write out the things you value and treause most about your mom.  After that take it one step farther and put it on a personalized sign for her, so she can see every day and be encouraged!  Putting your own words on a sign are simple with a few clicks of a mouse, and a little typing on you computer keyboard you can give a gift that will be cherished for years.  Create a personalized frame www.lisawilber.rendistyle.com.

  • Great ideas! I love your suggestion to write out what you value and treasure most about your mom. We're actually running a contest right now where people can win $500 grocery gift cards for submitting memories of people who've made a difference in their lives (http://somebodysmothers.com/simplethingscontest). The gesture is always appreciated and is quite a cathartic experience.
