Happy Chinese New Year!

Today is the Chinese New Year: Year of the Rat.

We went to our favorite Chinese restaurant last night and were served by a waiter whom we befriended during my pregnancy.  He first saw our son at age 3 weeks, and now again at 6 months.  My husband and he greeted each other in Chinese and wished each other's family a Happy New Year.  It was a nice New Year's Eve celebration ... all my little guy cared about were the fish in the fishtank.  ha ha.

Our celebration was cut short today by my son's illness.  Poor little guy:  his first Chinese New Year spent in the doctor's office screaming.  Don't know who was more worked up: this sweet little golden pig (my son's sign) or his mama!  But, he's feeling a bit better this evening and has finally gone to sleep.

So, Happy Chinese New Year!  Best wishes for a prosperous new year!

  • And a Happy Chinese New Year to you too! I read your entry about ML's illness. Poor little guy, AND you too! BTDT. - Paula.

  • The dinner was fun ... the waiter was so nice. Engaging my son in baby talk and advising us toward/against different dishes. He even brought out (unordered) dessert. Monster love is feeling a bit better, but wasn't quite ready to go to daycare today, so it's mommy-baby time today.

  • Sounds like it was an awesome New Year's eve. Sorry to hear your little guy wasn't feeling well.
