Reasonably Interesting Stuff About Me
Posted 23rd February 2008 by Candance
I wouldn't call these things over-the-top, I am tabloid fodder kind of interesting, but I think they're pretty cool.
1) When the artist formerly known as my husband (a.k.a. my ex-husband) was in Iraq with his Reserve unit I became very active in the anti-war movement. Because of that activity, I was asked to speak before a congressional briefing concerning a plan to cut service member's hazardous duty pay after Bush landed on the aircraft carrier and announced the war was over. A lot of media covered the event, including Michael Moore's people. They ended up flying out to my house afterwards to film my kids and me and when Michael Moore released "Fahrenheit 911" he flew the ex and me to NYC for a private screening where we got to meet him. It was pretty cool and I recently learned I'm on www. imdb.com because of that movie even though I didn't actually make it in the film.
2)My grandfather was a federal judge personally appointed by LBJ and received a write up in "Time" Magazine because he was a Mississippi judge in favor of civil rights in the 1960's.
3) Ever since I was a child people have called me Lucy-as in Lucille Ball-because of my uncanny ability to always get myself in some kind of crazy situation. My best friend Jody has always been my Ethel because she goes along for the ride even though she knows the results are going to get us in trouble.
