connectivity is UNDERRATED!

SO, if you read my other notes, you know i lost my cell phone in NYC and some wonderful person found it and promised to send it back!  Well i FINALLY got it on Friday!  yippee!!  much coordination when into it and really i probably could have just bought a new one and been better off... but i digress.

what i noticed was something very interesting.  here i thought i was not that big of a cell phone or email checker via phone user.

WRONGO

the first couple of days were kind of fun and freeing like living on the wild side!  oooh i can't be contacted or contact others!  living dangerously!

then it just got annoying.  i couldn’t call my husband on the way home from work to give him a 'traffic is really horrific' update or 'whoo hoo!  no traffic i will be home in 10 minutes!  let's go out to eat!' update... no... just had to get home when i got home.

then the really fun part - back to back meetings at work!  where am i supposed to be and meeting with at what time?  i actually wrote everything down LOL

it was a fun learning experiment.  i really really really like having my phone and being connected.  i no longer see it as a frivolous thing that i just get to have as a perk of the job and now see it as a NECISSITY!  one that i am very grateful for!!

Am i the only one to figure out that something i thought was a silly perk is actually something useful?

  • I'm glad the whole phone episode ended well for you. And I love your photo! You look as beautiful on the outside as I know you are on the inside. And what a precious little boy! Lovely, lovely picture, Kate!

  • I don't want to think of my cell as a necessity. Though I use it for work so it kinda is. Blah. Congrats on getting the phone back and having your epiphany!!

  • Ah the ole' ball and chain, cell phones. I am guilty of turning min eoff and telling people that I have run out of battery. Isn't that obnoxious? Also, texting drives me nuts. It takes me FOREVER!

  • Hey Kate, I know exactly what you mean. My husband and I gave up our cell phones a few months ago to save money...man oh man it has been tough, and there are so many times that I wish I had mine back...sigh...maybe in a couple more months.
