Why Don’t You Want to Meet Me?

What does this say about us as a society? Are we so afraid of someone who seems trustworthy that we’d rather not be bothered with them? Would we rather our children stay parked in front of their television and PlayStation 3 than to send them out to play with the neighborhood kids? Have we just become so antisocial that it kills us to meet anyone new, especially the parents of the children our kids play with? I don’t understand this phenomenon. In fact, I’m lost.
So have you ever been in this situation? I would really love to know how you handled this.
