Drinking the Twitter Kool-Aid

After kicking it around for a couple of weeks, I've gone ahead and joined Twitter. It looks like it's not going to be nearly as big a time suck as I feared, and I can use it through Gmail Chat, which I keep open all the time anyway. If it gets ridiculous, I can always bail on it, but I just couldn't hold off on trying it anymore.

If you're on Twitter, look me up, and we can follow each other around! :-) I'm florinda_3rs over there.

  • Monawea and Veronica - I'm following both of you on Twitter now! :-)

Veronica - If you go to "devices" in your Twitter settings and enable IM, you enter your Gmail address and select GTalk as your IM client. You'll get a verification code. Add Twitter as a contact in Gmail and you should be good to go!

Monawea - I can already see what you mean, but so far it's not as distracting as I was afraid it would be.

  • How do you use it via gmail chat?

  • Oh, no. You poor thing. You drank the cool-aid. It's all over for you. You might as well shave your head as well. ;) . Twitter is very cool for meeting people and networking but can also be a huge distraction. I have had to set "Twitter allowed" hours so that I can actually get work done.
Thanks for sharing. I am going to follow you now. You can follow me @monawea.
