Quitting your job - without a backup

After much struggle, I've decided to quit my job. This is a new and scary experience for me, as I don't have another job lined up.

I'll be staying home with my son, and working as a writer and editor. I've always relied on a steady income, so this will be a new experience for me.

But I just couldn't leave my son. I have such a deep connection to him and to wanting to be here for him. This has nothing to do with the work-at-home vs. work-outside-the-home debate. I make no judgments on women who want to work, or feel they have to. This is just what is right for me and my family at this point in time.

I'm terrified, yet excited.

Becky

writer and editor for hire!

(It feels good to say that.)

  • Thank you. I don't think I could do it if I wasn't already doing SOME writing. But I'll need more in order to pay all of the bills/ replace the rest of my pay.

  • You have my support!

That is so courageous. I wish I could do that. I'd love to have more time with my kids, even if I am working at home. And, be able to do what you love? Even better.

    Good luck.
