We worked hard this morning at my house. Very hard. It was one of those mornings when by the time I got to work I felt like I had already put in a full day of work. At home. Between the long weekend, my MIL being in town and Jack running a fever earlier this week, we had fallen out of our morning ritual "groove" and into the chaotic rut of life. Jack woke up grumpy, hungry and still feeling major pain from those little molars coming through the back of his mouth. I had done absolutely nothing to prepare for the morning so I had to gather Jack's lunch, extra diapers, sheet for the daycare bed and sleepy blanket from all corners of the house. And, as I was getting everything gathered, my dear dear husband was trying to corral Jack and keep him out of the dog food when yikes! he shut little one's thumb in the laundry room door. So, where will I find "first finger smash" in that pesky little baby book?

All that chaos was finally behind us when we pulled out of the garage 25 minutes later than usual. Oops, forgot my phone on the charger, run back in... Where's my coffee? gotta run back in again. Okay, 30 minutes late. No biggy, thankfully we're a very fluid, flexible office, so no one will even notice.

Finally get everything set at daycare. Lunch/bottles/cups in the fridge. check. Daily paper filled out. Check. Changed the sheet. Check. Pacifier. Check. Extra pacifier. Check.  Distract him with a ball to avoid standard crying fit. Check. Out the door and out of sight. Check. "Did you get Jack's paper?" I hear from the head teacher of his room. Um, no. Oh, great news, he's being PROMOTED to the toddler room next month and here are the 12 things that are going to drastically change in your life and schedule as he makes that transition.
