This weekend was insane... We took our son to FL on a quick trip. He is generally pretty good traveler... He sleeps, eats and behaves... Yesterday was really tough... he just kept crying all day long and I had a massive headache. I literally didn't know what to do with him. Finally, we just gave him a little Tylenol so that he could sleep at night... I'm not sure if i should've given him Tylenol but i really had no idea what was wrong. He didn't have a fever and slept well the night before. I was torn if i should give him Tylenol, but in the end i just gave in. Sometimes, I guess you try whatever you can to calm your child down....

  • When deciding what to do, I have always gone by my gut instinct. You did the right thing.

I have learned about more homeopathic remedies that help to sooth the little ones. You too can research Standard Homeopathics' benefits.

When my son was teething, chamomille helped tremendously.

Obviously, you will know the difference between managing small things and taking action with your physician should anything be more serious.

  • Our daughter sometimes does this when we travel too. It's really hard on their little systems I think...I would be hard pressed to think of another solution if I were in your shoes. Don't feel guilty!

  • You did the right thing. It's not like you are giving him Tylenol every day for long periods of time. It could be allergies, teething, who knows what. I can always tell the "pain cry" from the others and that's when I consider using pain relievers.

  • One time when my two older ones were small and I was single, I took them to the doc - we were all three sick and caughing and I just had had it. The doctor perscribed elixer w/codiene, told me to give it to them 30 min before bed and to get some rest myself!

  • Babies get headaches, too... it could have been anything -- humidity, change of scene, different sounds, being too tired. you did the right thing giving him a dose of Tylenol -- hope you all got some rest!

  • My pediatrician once told me a 1/4 teaspoon of Benadryl also works wonders. And it does, too, THANK GOD. Like you said, you do what you have to do...not only for your child, but for yourself as well.
