WHAM vs. SAHM vs. WOHM vs. WHO CARES!

There have been so many posts lately on the different types of "MOMS" it's like the battle of the moms.

The topic is obviously a sore spot for many and the posts usually get a ton of responses.

This is a wonderful site that offers support and my point in leaving this note is to simply say we all do our best and try our hardest to be darn good mothers.

I think we sometimes fail to realize that "MOTHERHOOD" is the hardest job and it does not differ from SAHM, WOHM, WAHM etc..  Grant it the struggles of each are there in different ways but "MOTHERHOOD" all around is hard.  Being a parent is challenging.

Being a mother is hard and we need to realize that we are all working really hard at being the best we can be regardless of how we are doing it.

  • Ugh. I so agree with you. I've also noticed these sorts of comments lately on the message boards and, really, it's just a terrible generalization to say that certain moms - whether SAHM or WOHM - are judging the "other side." More like, some people are just judgmental of others, period!! I think there's a degree of paranoia out there. For example, I know many, many WAHMs and SAHMs and in all our discussions of parenting I've never ever heard anyone say one word against WOHMs or moms who put their kids in daycare. :)

  • I absolutely agree! I've avoided most of the discussions because I don't really think that they're productive: we all struggle in our own way regardless of whether we work inside or outside the home. The unifying point -- like you say -- is motherhood. Thanks for writing this post!
