RAISING AMERICANS

So this 4th of July, my family along with our neighbors in American suburbia will celebrate Independence Day and celebrate America. We truly love being Americans. Not just the prosperous life that attracted us to this country in the first place, but we love the values and ideals that make America great, and make this country truly a land of promise: respect not just tolerance, diversity, but also assimilation, hard work, love of God, country and family. That’s the brand of Americanism I want my children to absorb. It is so unfortunate that if you listen to the media lately, you get the feeling that the world hates us right now and it even sometimes feels that some of us hate ourselves. I will not attempt to understand that. All I know is that, knowing what it is like not to be American before, I am sure glad I am one now. I am proud to be American and to be raising the next generation of proud Americans.
