The Problem with Plus Size

I know that there always has to be a way to identify people...To put people in categories...But I hate the term 'Plus Size'. What does it mean? Does it mean that we are a regular woman, plus something additional?
Why are there two sets of sizes for Misses' and Women's? I know why there's a different set of sizes for junior's, and I even understand Petites, but I can't wrap my mind around Plus.
Now, I've heard just about every term that people use instead of Plus...They all sound strange to me. I had a woman tell me the other day that belly dancing was excellent for Plush women. What is Plush? A pillow is plush...Some fabrics feel plush...but a woman over size 12 should not be classified as plush...
Then there's my all time favorite, Curvy...Now this term is not as bad, but most women have curves. In fact I know some very slender and petite women, who have curves.
So here's my proposal...Why not just call women, women? Putting us in these categories may make it easier for designers, but I think it causes to much separation amongst women. Now I do think clothes should be grouped according to age appropriateness. Maybe not because that might cause a problem. Think about how horrible designers would make the seniors department look...What designers need to understand is that we want to look sexy and stylish at any age or any size. If they'd just make quality, fashionable and fabulous clothes for all of us wouldn't shopping be a much happier experience?
