Guns and Geocaching

I feel so... weird. I have such strange hobbies. I mean, not all of them are strange, like kayaking and hiking - those are normal. But then I have the not so normal hobbies (at least not normal for the people I know).
Guns - I used to shoot ocassionally with my dad (he's military, what do you expect!) and it was just okay. I did decent but for the most part it was just to spend time with my Dad. Then, I went again a month or so ago for the first time in about 10 years and WOW, it was fun. Not like "Wheee!" fun, but it was one of those activities that totally takes you out of your day-to-day routine, you are concentrating so much on shooting that you aren't thinking of laundry or kid or work. Very much what I needed. So, two weeks ago, I bought my first gun! A Taurus .40 caliber 24.7 Pro. I'll be shooting it tonight for the first time. Watch out world.. Jonna's got a gun and she knows how to use it! (Safely I might add!)
Geocaching - I found out about geocaching a year or so ago and we had just gotten a GPS. Check out my caching blog about it at http://kissmycache.blogspot.com
It's so much fun! It's modern day treasure hunting and they are EVERYWHERE! New York to California and overseas galore! They are in the urban areas and the remote alike and some will take you to places you didn't even know existed right around the corner from you. Some are just there and others are there for a purpose. Some are fast finds and others are multiple clues that takes hours!
I'm not sure why I like what I like, but at least I know what I like and frankly, I can't wait because I get to do a little shooting and caching this weekend. What agreat way to unwind from a hectic week.
