Time Management with a Crock Pot

I love to cook, and since becoming a mom and working from home I have found cooking time gets smushed and we end up eating out.

I am working on getting fit and losing some fat, so eating Mexican out once a week is not really such a great idea.

I was looking around for some healthy recipes and found this amazing blog called Crockpot 365. This woman, Stephanie, made a new year's resolution to use her crockpot every day for a year.

What fun! She's blogging about it the whole way.

It was then the light dawned on me. The crock pot. What a great way to manage dinner and my time.

I have since started using the crockpot at least a couple days a week. It is so easy, and I can put it on in the morning (our good time of day) and dinner is just ready in the evening (our not so good time of day).

I don't have to heat up the house with the oven or stove during the summer, and I don't have to suddenly panic at 6 when Hanna's yelling "hungry hungry" and realize I forgot to make dinner again!

If you are looking for an easy way to manage your time as well as dinner I suggest you think about adding your crock pot to your cooking schedule.

  • I love your stress free life. I love my crock pot and use it all the time with three kids in sports and working for myself. One of the companies I own is homemade gourmet and we cater to the crock pot moms because our products that you prepare are for crock pots I would love to talk with you more. I also own Shaklee health and wellness and that has saved my family on the wellness side. I am a owner of a medical Day spa too so as you can see my life is full of different things but I keep my stress level low and have the most wonderful family that supports me. Kathy

  • I am quite astounded by the variety of meals she cooks in the crockpot. Sometimes over the weekend she will makes dips or deserts or something with the crockpot and not necessarily a whole meal.

I was quite surprised ~ not just for soups anymore!

  • Hi, Jackie,
Crockpots are great timesavers, and in the summer they don't heat up the kitchen. I just used mine the other day for crockpot burritos (easy). I'm going to check out the link, but I can't imagine using a crockpot every day for a year. I think we'd get a bit tired of it by then :)
