More Thoughts on Shared Parenting and Shared Housework

On the parenting front, I actively avoid the temptation to micromanage his efforts at discipline, dressing, and feeding. By stepping back a bit and leaving room for him to do things his way, I get a lot more participation than I otherwise would. My philosophy is that I should be as respectful of my husband's parenting approach as I would be if I were talking to a girlfriend from playgroup about her child.
Our current arrangement works well for us while I'm on the mommy track. It will be interesting to see how well it holds up and what changes we make if we have a second child or I return to full-time work.
