Birthday party - a fun time and a really bad accent!

My stepdaughter's 13th birthday party was held yesterday. Since she's getting into acting and theater - not just being a "teenage drama queen" :-) - her mom found a website for role-playing kids' parties at http://www.dramaticfanatic.com/index.html
But grownups could play too, and in "A Mansion Mystery" I was cast as "Zee French Chef." (My stepkids think I'm a very good cook, so I think they typecast me.) It was a lot of fun, especially when the cheesy French accent I was using for the character turned out to be contagious and half the guests started talking that way too!
The theater-party kits are designed for kids 8-13 and aimed at participation, not performing. I thought it was a great idea, and it's pretty easy to pull together, so you might want to check it out if you're looking for something different for your school-aged child's birthday party.
