Oh, how much I hate the cold!

I know, I am such a wimp, but it's 31 degrees today (and supposedly for the rest of the week) and it's seriously affecting my mood. My husband makes fun of me because I spend the entire fall dreading winter and then spend the winter dreading winter:)

Of course, my daughter could not be more thrilled that it's freezing because, as she said this am in the car: "When it's cold it snows and mommy, I love when it snows so so much!"

Ok, kid, I am very happy for you. But even my favorite cashmere zippie isn't making me happy on this freezing afternoon.

Anyone else hate winter?

  • I grew up in Montreal, Canada and always wondered why people chose to live there if they didn't have to. It's a great city in the summer, spring and fall, but winter is brutal. Now I live in San Diego and have gotten very spoiled. I guess it's age or thinning blood, but I'm sitting here in a huge fleece while my kids run around in shorts and t-shirts. Go figure!

  • Reno snows just enough for the kids to enjoy (me, too) then it goes away.

  • I personally like spring and fall. Winter is ok if I don't have to drive in snow and ice. I make my husband take me to work when the weather is bad.

  • I am with tkd-mama! I don't thaw until spring. I have to take a hot shower right before bed to stay warm enough to sleep. Tell me why I live in New England again?

  • I've grown up in northeastern Wisconsin, so winter is a fact of life. I enjoy the snow and the beauty of it. But I'll admit, I keep a pair of fingerless gloves at my desk because the heat is kept way down low on weekends to save money, and getting in on Monday mornings is the pits!!

  • I am in Springfield Massachusetts so go figure how freezing it's here. I am wearing 3 sweaters, long pants, socks and my nose is like Ruddolph. :-)

  • LOL, Paula, you made me laugh. I am one of those who loves all seasons. Though this is the first winter I thought, "oh no!" But I was able to get over it when my 4 year old realized it was going to be cold for a long time and she'd be able to sled and ice skate and drink lots of hot chocolate. With that enthusiasm, I don't dare get upset over the impending winter. Plus I just got these gorgeous new boots ;).
