I hope I find the way to post this for the contest. Here it goes:

 My 10-month-old son sleeps in his crib at the foot of our bed. Yesterday morning when I woke he wasn't crying or fussing but just standing up, holding on to the rails with one hand and reaching out to me with his other hand. His face was lit up with a smile, and he was inviting me to join him in waking to the day.
