It takes confidence in everything we do, parenting, career, physique, etc.

She refuses to become a parent after being married for over 10 years, yet she constantly praises her husband for being the most attentive person and cool and playful with little kids.  Is she shortchanging her husband?

BTW, she is almost 40 years old, and she has admitted to the fact that she is too selfish to be a mother because her plate is quite full with a fulltime job and 4-night-per-week aerobic teaching gig.  Hip hop seems to be the latest hobby of hers.

How sad for a person to hold on to fears against everything.  In this case, fear of becoming a parent.

A confident person takes on the challenge as a parent because he and she thinks he/she is good enough to be a role model for a little human being, to pass on the good values, and to do things with the little person, and to share lessons learned, and etc.

A selfish person, rather a sad coward, hides behind the fears and put on a smoke screen with hippy hobbies, constant travels, and etc. to deflect selfishness.  It's an empty existence.
