From the desk of the "temp"

So, I think most of you know this already, but I am still just the temp.  Not that it's a bad thing mind you these days especially in this economy as I am working...but....I've been temping now for almost 4 years total.

I still don't get vacation time or Holiday time or Sick time....I don't even get Insurance.  (Well, I could, but why, since I can get it under my husband's insurance).

My biggest vent though has been through this latest company that I've been working with...going on 3 years in January of 2010...yes, I've been here since January 18, 2007.

Now, I do have to give this current company credit for keeping me on so long, it did give me some job history credit, as to before the these three years (let's just call it three), I was working one month to one day jobs...

I also like that I can do pretty much what ever I want to here....yes, and I get away with it too...crazy right?

In the meantime, they hired two people (different people that is) to do the same position that I was more than capable of...the first round they went with Amy C. (can't write last name for anonymity).  She was younger than me, cuter than me, and well, wore PJs on more than one occasion.  She liked to come in late, leave early and take "vacations."  The company finally fired her in Nov of 08, in which I again, took over the position (A/P) from Nov 08 - Feb 09.

The second round, I was NOT even considered for an interview, NOT even told about the position being on Monster (yes, sneaky wasn't it...) and then they hired Elena G. (again, not the full name, and she is STILL here) who happens to be Cape Verdian.  Now note that I am a white Jewish girl, but have played at the Cantab in Cambridge for many many years....so...on that note, I continue....I was the only one that could train her (yes, even though I wasn't qualified for the position, I was qualified to train a new person...go figure that one out), and she has thrown me under the bus more times than I can count.  She has been out a few days (here and there, and the weirdest one was her "father's death", where she was out one/two days and then back in, then out again for three days), late sometimes, and then I was asked to cover....yes, her position.

About a month ago, she told the higher ups in HR that I made derogatory comments (racist) WHICH I IN NO WAY MADE/SAID/WOULD EVER DO...and they were doing an investigation (against me), which as of yesterday it was finally closed and NO action will be taken against me.
