This is the more time intensive step, if you ask me. It can take months to get a steady stream of people coming to your blog, however the end result can be amazing and lucrative.

Free traffic equates to Web 2.0 i.e. Social Media. Social Media is Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Myspace, Youtube and so forth.

Basically, the future of advertising is in relationship building. Read it again, "The future of advertising is in relationship building." The future of business, marketing, sales are all hinging on making personal relationships with every customer. Well, big corps can't do this, so social media and affiliate marketing is the vehicle to drive the marketplace forward.

We don't want coupons anymore. We want to KNOW the product works and more importantly works for US as an individual.

People are tired of commercials and banner ads and want to get their information to buy products from real people. We can't trust big corporations anymore and the online scene can be a little hazy and daunting since it's still new to many people.

How do you specifically use Web 2.0 or Social Media to drive traffic then?

Sign up with the following sites and use your name or company name. If you already have say, a Facebook account then go ahead and use it. There's nothing wrong with telling your current friends and relatives about what you are buying and your thoughts on it.

To take it a step further I suggest opening up another Facebook and Twitter account that's just for business. Begin searching for people or groups that are interested in or are similar to you. Think of your hobbies, job, spiritual preferences, local interests in your community, etc. and start "friending" them and they friend/follow you back. Do this daily!
