Funny Moments

  • When my daughter was three weeks old she ate like it was her job (I guess she still does). I noticed that every time she finished eating she would pull off, sigh, and give my breast one last lick. She would then slip into her milk induced coma. I really got a kick out of it. What are your funny breastfeeding/pumping moments?

  • Looking down in the shower and seeing that I was spouting like a tugboat.

  • KatieK, I've heard that from a few of my friends, too! Thankfully, it hasn't happened to me! My funny moment is similar, though. See, my milk tends to spray in streams rather than roll out, and Squiggles would pop off several times before getting a good latch (more so in the first few months than now). This resulted in me spraying him in the face, and sometimes up his nose! The first few times he would cry and fuss, but now when it happens he just closes his eyes and scrunches up his face! It's hilarious!

  • i had similar experinces like corinneyb. if my son didn't wake up every 3 hours to feed when he did it would stream out. the first time this happened was in the middle of the night and i was feeding him in out bed when he started screaming because the milk was going all over his face. daddy jumped thinking he was hurt or something. we all had a good laugh, well except my son, he was stilla bit freaked.

  • I had a tank printed with "got breastmilk" and wore it to our state fair with the little ones. Our fair really does a "got milk" promotion... so I found it fitting and HILARIOUS. I am a true promoter for breastfeeding. I also have a license plate frame that says, "Breast is best... Breastfeed your baby." The only time I have ever been pulled over, the cop asks me "Are you a lactation specialist?" I laughed and said that no, I am just a zealous Mommy. He let me go without a ticket. I get a kick out of watching in my rear view mirror at stop lights as the guys behind me crank their necks to read my license plate frame.
