Right now I'm reading a book on vaccines (don't ask why...looooong story). I know...sounds boring, but it's fascinating to me. What topics are you ladies reading up on (maybe I'll be able to add to my list
)? Flag as inappropriate Posted by mamajama on 14th September 2007 -
I'm reading 1-2-3 Magic, Your defiant child....get the picture? My son, I affectionately refer to as "the Tank", is taxing my resources. I've run out of ways to encourage him to do the right things!
I think I read a book on vaccines a while back. I have 3 young kids and I am, I have discovered, a 'hover' parent. It's exhausting the amount of information out there that contradicts and supports your initial instincts. Trust your instincts.
I'm drowning in 'chick lit' these days, as well. When you need a break, try Bright Lights, Big Ass. It's a series of essays that are easy to read and will remind you of your pre-mom days.Flag as inappropriate Posted by unkeptmomof3 on 20th September 2007 -
unkeptmomof3 I love Jen Lancaster's books. I finished Brigh tLights, Big Ass and immedietly headed out to grab her first book, Bitter Is The New Black!
She's got another one coming out soon!
I'm still on my serial killer book kick, that's mostly what I read about anyway. As if reading about their stories will somehow enlighten me on how to avoid a serial killer, if ever in that situation.Flag as inappropriate Posted by The Tattooed Mommie on 21st September 2007 -
I just finished Devil In The White City which is about the Chicago World's Fair in the 1890's. It was fantastic and I'd recommend it to non-fiction and fiction readers alike.Flag as inappropriate Posted by heels on 16th October 2007

All of those books sound amazing!
Unkeptmomof3, I highly recommend Taking Power Struggle out of Parenting by Sharon Strand Ellison. It is a great tool for communicating with your kids. My husband and I listened to it on cd. How was 1-2-3 Magic?Flag as inappropriate Posted by mamajama on 17th October 2007
