  • I like the photo where you're hair is kind of in a medium-length bob (you have a child on your lap). It looks great!

  • Ugh, hair. I usually keep mine lopped off b/c it's easiest for me. I'm growing it out now for no other reason than I keep forgetting to deal with it. I might go all crazy and try a mohawk soon just because it would be neat to try it once. Then of course I'll take it all off again. I still have the same curling iron I had in high school and I didn't need it then b/c I had very short hair.

You look great with the bangs but I also like that you've grown it out and feel you should take advantage of that. Don't go for the bangs yet and, if you don't like your new cut or when you grow tired of it the bangs will give you a great dramatic change.

  • I haven't read the post yet but did take a quick look at the pictures. If I were you, I'd print out all the ones you are contemplating and go to the best damn hairstylist in town. Tell them you can't make a decision about which way to go and see what they have to say. When it comes to hairstyles I always trust the advice of my trusted pro's.

  • I think KathyHowe's recommendation to print out the pictures, take them to a pro, and let them guide you, is a good one.

Having hair that can't decide whether it wants to be curly or straight, I kind of know where you're coming from. I'm just grateful to live a fairly dry climate now, where it doesn't frizz nearly as much.

I think I'd try going without the bangs. Of all the pictures, I liked Maggie Gyllenhall's hair the best.

  • I like Maggie's hair the best for you as well. Her face shape is very similar to yours. Actually, you've done a great job of finding face shapes like yours. I don't see a single one that doesn't match.

If your hair is part curly and part not (like mine) then you'll want something that has layers. Layers also grow out better so you can stretch out the time between cuts if necessary. And on a wash and go day you could put in a little pomade for a choppy casual but still on purpose look. My goal in life is to look like I mean to look like this.

The top cut is adorable but it will take a lot more work than you're used to. Both in daily maintenance and in visits to the salon.

  • Oh Ladies- You are all just so wonderful. I'm so grateful that you all took the time to help me out. I can't get a straight answer out of anybody I know "in real life"!

I have an appointment tomorrow morning. I think that I will decide then if I'll just get a trim or lop it all off. I know, I know- it's JUST HAIR! One of my goals is to stop taking myself so seriously! HA!

Anyway- Thanks. A lot. I'll let you know on Monday what I decided!
