I used to work somewhere that closed down for the week between Christmas and New Year's, and I think it's really smart. So many people want to be off then - or need
to be, because their kids are out of school - that not much gets done anyway. On the flip side, if you are
working, you can get a lot done because no one bothers you!
My office is closed Christmas Day and New Year's Day, and I'm taking off Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve, and January 2. I'm working half-days for the three days after Christmas. I'm looking forward to the extended weekends!
