Okay I need help.... I recently stepped outside my comfort zone and started a home based business. I love the products, I enjoy fellow team members but what's wrong???? Every day I receive team emails saying Sally signed up 3 new customers, Bob signed up 2 new customers, Ted is on fire.....
Am I the only one with a small family? How do you find leads, how do you search out those individuals who are looking for the widget or what-ya-ma-call-it your promoting? Do you grab strangers on the street?

It's never easy in the beginning. The hardest part is dealing with your own judgement. If you'd like, tell me more about your business and perhaps we can come up with specific strategies. One strategy you have just started by posting your message. Networking and being proud to promote what you do is a great way to start.
And remember, you have chosen this business. And you chose it for a reason. Probably because it fits into your lifestyle, or the life style that you want. That is certainly why I jumped off the cliff. And it's a freefall. Try to breathe and enjoy the view.

definately. i agree. i believe if you get together a strategy of how you are going to work your business and follow ith through then it will work.

Even if you are working for a direct sales or a company in which you are an "independant consultant", I strongly think you should still have a business plan. Make yourself a road map of where you want to go and how you're going to get there. It will really help in times when you are second guessing what you should do next.

I just started a home business really two I do customer service calls and I started a website business. I did the e commerce site myself I did the inventory my self it was a long process but I got through it still have a few items to add.
I have been advertising on google I sent out postcards with vertical response and I got my first customer the other day. You have to start somewhere. I tried those business were you have to bring people in no good if you dont know anybody.
I rather find wholesalers and sell the product myself that what I advice anyone to do because you can set your price.
I dont use Ebay becuase the fees I rather keep my profit to get advertising my own website. I spend my money on buying my own wholesale products and advertising not for ebay fees and they won't even advertising your store on ebay.
Dont get into the downsell business don't work if you don't know somebody.

and if you do I give you a work at home site that cost no money and really works. because I am doing it as i right this my phone is ringing to answer calls for toysrus and babiesrus and I am sitting in my home today I make alot of money because I can work what hours I want too. Have you tried starting a blog? I think that one great way to bring in new members into your organization is to start a blog that offers information, sales ideas, and interviews with successful people within the organization. If you need help getting a domain name, blog hosting, and setting up a blog I can help you with this.
I've had wonderful success with blogs in general and have just launched another blog currently doing a similar experiment with an organization that I'm a part of.

Is there a more experienced team member that might be able to mentor you? One of the most important things is to believe in yourself. I know that may sound a little corny but comparing yourself to others can often lead to frustration when you aren't experiencing the same results. Without knowing the specifics of your business, I would suggest writing down your target market (identify your ideal customer/client) and how this product will meet their needs or solve a problem for them. The more specific you can get, the better. Once you know your target market, it makes it a little easier to focus your marketing to reach those people.

Thank you so much for taking time out to comment, it's appreciated.
I just spoke to my mentor earlier this evening and she's just as frustrated as I. I am using the same techniques as many of my team members with no results while they flourish. I understand area, neighborhoods etc.. play a big part and what might work in a rural area won't work in blue collar area so that might explain some of it.
Target market would be parents of children with chronic health issues such as asthma, allergies or eczema etc... would benefit most. But truthfully any consumer that wants to live a healthier life, cares about the environment would benefit as well from the products we have.
I believe and eventually I will find my way.... but a nicely printed road map wouldn't hurt. ha! ha!

What business do you have?
I really had to retrain my thoughts after my first year to move to the next level.
Keep moving forward ! Don't get stuck in a rut of feeling like you have failed.
Move to the next person on your list.
Have a plan every day of who your going to call, don't make it a huge number you can't do or may seem to overwhelming. I call 5 current customers, 1 new potential and one of my distributors to touch base.
I set a goal to sell one thing a day, big or small, at the end of the day I feel great about it.
If at noon I sold something , then I 'm coasting and everything is a bonus.
Detach yourself from the way No's make you feel. Its not you!
Step outside your circle and look for new people.
I just learned at a training that when you ask someone face to face they are more likely to say yes. Emails usually get deleted, phone conversations are about 50/50. So get in front of people.
