Would you rather work from home, or drive to a job?

  • I work from home. It is a surprisingly difficult thing to do- but man, it is nice to not have to spend so much time in the car and so much money on gas. I still have childcare, but it is right down the street.

  • I love that I do not have to drive to the office, with gas prices and the crazy drivers :)
It takes dedication and seperate space and also a schedule.
Taking my kids to school in the morning and being able be the one that picks them us is worth the working my schedule around having an office at home.

  • Prefer to stay at home and work from home, no commute. Much better life than getting into the rat race!

  • Working from home is hard somedays - especially since I don't have childcare - Trying to get a large amount of work when he's sleeping and not feeling guilty about doing my job when he's awake can take its toll on me. But, I think maybe when he starts school (which is years from now) it will be so ideal.

  • Have been working from home 5 years now. Started out some 12 years back driving to office and back. Both feel good. I like both.

  • I like the idea of having a physical seperation between work and home. I have a feeling that if I worked from home I would never truly be devoted to one or the other, but rather flit in between both of them. I have about a 35 minute commute now, and it does bug me that I'm in my car over an hour of my day. I'd like a 10-15 minute commute instead, I think. Enough time to redirect my brain from one thing to the next, but not so much that I'm missing excess time at home. I'd naturally rather spend time with my daughter than driving. But I'd need SOME commute, I think, to seal the transition between work and home and home and work.

  • Drive to a job! Ive tried working from home.. it was nice and comfortable but... almost too comfortable. I like the change of scenery, people and soft peer pressure to accomplish as much as I can in one day while at the office.
