Has anyone exhibited at a trade show?

  Hi Ladies,
  
  I will be exhibiting my product, My Plate-Mate, for the first time at the ABC Kids Expo in September. It is one of the largest trade shows that is open to retailers and media only. An excellent way to get my new product out there. I'm excited, but nervous. I was wondering if you great entrepreneurs would share your trade show experiences. It doesn't matter if the venue was for the industry or open to the public, I'd love to hear from you all. What were your Big Wins? What were the Must Have Items you recommend bringing? What would you have done differently in your booth?

  I'm not sure how the links work here but I posted an article about my first trade show experience in March which you can read by clicking here http://www.workitmom.com/article-2712 The short and sweet of the article is that I thought is was a great way to get the word out about my new company. Don't do balloons as a giveaway. I've been told that paper or flyers that you hand out just get piled up with others and thrown away - so I wouldn't spend money on a ton of expensive color flyers. Must have - one bold thing (ie poster) to draw attention to your booth. A quick and big explanation of your product so people walking by know what you are about. A partner so you can take a break! Comfortable shoes!
