Would you want to know if you're at risk for a certain disease later in life?

  • I've been reading a lot about this company, 23 and Me, started by the wife one of the Google co-founders. It's a genetic testing company that will test your DNA for markers that might indicate you're at risk for developing a particular disease or disorder later in life. (https://www.23andme.com/). You get one of their kits, spit in it, and send it back for analysis.

Would you do something like this? Would you want to know your risks?

  • Actually, with Market America, they also have the DNA Gene SNP kit, where you swab your cheek with a q-tip, and then send to a lab. They then analyze it (no personal information is given) and then send you a whole kit: Including a booklet on what your personal problems could be along with your family history.

I can check how much the kit is if you are interested in learning more, just e mail me to find out.
