We went to Japan last year and we took our then 2 1/2 yr old and 4 1/2yr old. Being that the trip was 24 hours one-way, we were very nervous about how they'd handle it. But with lots to do (movies, coloring, toys and activities) they did great on the entire trip and will hopefully remember much of it. In December we had one more kid and this year we went to Western Europe with them all. They were 5, 3 1/2, and 3 months and they also did great. I homeschool, so we studied the places we were going to visit and when we saw them in person they were super excited because they remembered seeing them in books! They especially loved the Eiffel Tower and the Colosseum. We plan on taking a trip like this every year or two so there will be more adventures for us soon.
At what age would you bring your kids on a trip abroad?
